|  | On 15th March, 2008, Wambo Shire was amalgamated with Dalby Town and the Shires of Chinchilla, Murilla, Tara and Taroom (Division 2). Contact details and other information regarding the Dalby Regional Council are available at its new website www.dalbyrc.qld.gov.au The Wambo District is just two and a half hours drive west of Brisbane and the major coastal areas. The district covers 5700 sq km and is home to 5200 people, taking in the towns of Jandowae, Bell, Kaimkillenbun, Warra, Jimbour, Macalister and Mowbullan. Road transport links are excellent, with the Warrego Highway connecting Brisbane through Dalby to Western Queensland, the Moonie Highway linking up with the Leichhardt Highway for access to the Southern States, and the Bunya Highway taking Northern traffic to coastal centres from the Sunshine Coast North. |
